Modbury Special School was built in 1974 and renovated in 2005. All class units have separate teaching areas for groupwork, individual work and mealtime management, quiet space and enclosed outdoor play area. Each unit also has inside access to toilet facilities.
The Severe and Multiple Disability Learning unit was built and opened during 2021. SMARTBOARDS (large interactive touch screens) are a feature of every classroom and all classes have access to specialist art, sensory, computer and living skills areas.
The school has been designed and built to meet the special needs of its students and to ensure a safe learning environment for their education.
